Surrender

When it comes to life in the flesh, from a worldly perspective, surrendering has a negative meaning.  But when it comes to spirituality, when we surrender the things that are completely out of our control to God, it’s believed to be positive.  When we try to control things that are out of our control, it creates stress and worry, which usually results in setbacks, failure, and sadness.  When we give the control to God, we can find peace, comfort, and happiness in knowing no matter what the circumstances, He always has a plan.  Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord.  “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”  Do you have enough faith to trust God and give Him control?  Our lack of trust is a true reflection of our lack of faith we have in God.  Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

By design, God created us with free will and He “allows” the things of life in the flesh to unfold, the Good, the bad, and the ugly.  John 10:10 (NLT) says, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.  My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”  Yet, how quick we are to blame God during the bad and the ugly and how slow we are to praise God during the Good.

Spend time with God and His Word to increase your faith and you will see an equal increase in trust.  Then, when you do surrender the things of this life that are out of your control, you can find peace and comfort, no matter what the circumstances.
